Are you new?

...something I was wondering about the first week of the read. I was wondering how much Lady Russell had actually influenced her friend Elizabeth Stevenson to marry the young baronet Sir Walter.

If Lady Russell has always been such a poor judge of character, or so blinded by rank when it comes to judging character, it seems even more likely that she was implicated in her late friend's decision to marry, and therefore in her subsequent unhappiness.
