Ever since I married a Mr Smith (they are to be met with everywhere!) and became a Mrs Smith myself, I take an extra sort of perverse pleasure in that passage - it's really very funny.

Forunatly I'm not a widow and haven't reached 30 yet, but still I laugh everytime.
