Another thought   Written by Cheryl (10/15/2005 11:28 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Perhaps Anne's reaction, penned by Rebecca Mog
Are you new?

Remember when Anne went to Uppercross - her thoughts were all of Kellynch and having to leave her home and it was hard at first being with people who didn't know, or didn't care about what was uppermost on her mind.

"...coming as she did, with a heart full of the subject which had been completely occupying both houses in Kellynch for many weeks, she had expected rather more curiosity and sympathy than she found." (ch 6)

Now, she finds the same thing happening again, this time in Bath. She is preoccupied with the doings of Lyme, of Louisa and Frederick, and no one is Bath could care less.

"...they had only a few faint enquiries to make, before the talk must be all their own. Uppercross excited no interest, Kellynch very little: it was all Bath." (ch 15)

So poor Anne, always wanting to be elsewhere, doomed to be with people who cannot enter in to her concerns and worries.
