Are you new?

I thought Anne was being very saintly. If he is too nice or observant, he probably would not want Elizabeth. It has been mentioned before that Elizabeth wanted to marry him, so I thought that Anne was hoping that Elizabeth would not be disappointed. Also, if they do marry, Mr Elliot is more likely to be happy with her were he not nice or observant. Therefore, IMO, Anne is wishing them both happiness.
