Thank you all for the great haikus I received in a flurry today. I have learned my lesson: when you want something - whine. ;-) I'll try not to whine too much in the future.

- Dutiful branch once
dismembered paternal tree
Can you reconcile?
- Handsome and charming,
He ingratiates himself.
Too good to be true?
- His first wife was rich,
beautiful, and loved him; hence
he was forgiven.
- Black sheep back to fold
Mr. Elliott welcome
Bath becomes Anne's joy
- William Elliot
decides to drop his Walter:
he has feet of Clay.
- Rank is rank says the
Future owner of Kellynch
But Anne disagrees
- Fine form and features,
Seeking familial grace,
Comes sly Mr E.
- Manners maketh man?
Calm, smooth, engaging surface
Does not persuade Anne.
- Eliot pride! Gone!
The close encounter in Lyme
Continues in Bath.
- He is so nice and
Gentlemanly too, but still
Anne is Quizzical
- The Dutiful Branch,
Would rather see him than not -
Unlike the others.
- Smiles for all – why now?
For me? Elizabeth? You?
I do not trust you.
- Good-looking, clever
and a future Baronet.
Too good to be true?
- Kellynch heir William
Elliot pride satisfied
Proceed with caution
