Won't it be disappointing to know that the first note ever written by Frederick to Anne is about dry news and facts about... another woman? >:)
Oh, and unless there's another text, I thought this:
The first three or four days passed most quietly, with no circumstance to mark them excepting the receipt of a note or two from Lyme, which found their way to Anne, she could not tell how, and brought a rather improving account of Louisa.
didn't mean that she didn't know from whom the notes came. I thought what it meant was that she just didn't know how the notes got to her (i.e. she didn't know who delivered them to Kellynch Lodge--"not been able to trace the exact steps"). It could easily have been written by Mary or one of the Musgroves.
