I love that part, too   Written by Tara O'Donnell (10/10/2005 8:33 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, A Dressy Man, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

It's a great way of comparing and contrasting the egos of both men-Sir W overcompensates with his army of mirrors while Admiral

Croft(one of the best characters in Persuasion, along with his good wife)is perfectly satisfied with his" little shaving glass in one corner, and another great thing that I never go near."

Also, while both men are not very introspective, only one of them has
a real sense of self and it's certainly not the "dressy" fellow:)
