A Dressy Man   Written by Cheryl (10/10/2005 12:00 a.m.)
Are you new?

"I should think he must be rather a dressy man for his time of life. Such a number of looking-glasses! oh Lord! there was no getting away from oneself." (ch 13)

This is one of my favorite bits in Persuasion. I giggle every time I think of Admiral and Mrs Croft getting rid of all Sir Walter's mirrors. There must have been a prodigious amount! Such a dressy man. And you know he packed and brought several with him to Bath, for he would need them. How many must there be left if there is no getting away from oneself? Love it. ;-)
