there-his finding out about her refusal of Charles is a very subtle turning point for Capt W., it seems. Good observation. Not that he's necessarily conscious of renewing (or reawakening) feeling for Anne, but maybe a little more particular about his choice of bride, and in a little bit less of a hurry to declare himself?
