Ooh, Mary Ellen!   Written by Cheryl (10/6/2005 1:00 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Looks her in the eyes for the first time, penned by Mary Ellen
Are you new?

] I imagine the three of them in quite tight together, shoulders and knees touching through heavy coats. No Mrs. Musgrove as a barrier. As he turns to speak quietly to her so as not to awaken Henrietta, perhaps she can feel his warm breath on her cheek.

You're making my little heart go pitter-pat! :-}

I can think of a moment earlier in the same day when Wentworth looked Anne right in the eye:

"Anne, Anne," cried Charles, "what is to be done next? What, in heaven's name, is to be done next?"

Captain Wentworth's eyes were also turned towards her.

In everyone's panic they all turn beseeching eyes to her - including Frederick. Quite a change for our Anne "whose word had no weight."

Mary Ellen, I love that you're reading this aloud to your husband! Is he enjoying it? Has he read any Austen before?
