As Jenny says, Elinor and Edward in S&S marry on less than 1,000 a year. Earlier, in S&S, we are told that Willoughby's fortune is about 600-700 per year (not counting any debts or expectations from his aunt), and Mrs Jennings thinks that if Willoughby settled down and cleared off his debts then him and Marianne would have enough to marry on.

Wickham courts Miss King for the sake of her 10,000 pounds, and I doubt that him and Lydia have more than 1,000 when they marry.
