Musgroves are capable of appreciating Anne's intellegence. Not through any intentional slight but from a real lack of intellegence of their own. Mr. and Mrs. Musgrove are fairly silly, Charles is not bookish according to his sister, and none of the other Elliots are very bright.
Anne is in an intellectual desert until she meets CB. CW is ofcourse very bright - but they do not want to talk to each other.
