Secret mission   Written by Nicki (10/3/2005 3:53 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mary on the walk, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

If Mary had been told that they were going to Winthrop, I get the feeling (maybe only from P2) that she would have tried to prevent Henrietta's going anywhere near Charles Hayter. They had to ask, because they felt they should, but they didn't want her interference.

I agree about the red flag. Shouldn't Henrietta and Louisa know Mary well enough by now to know that if they tell her they suppose she wouldn't want to come then she would immediately insist on going with them?

The ironic thing is in the next few paragraphs, when Mary tells Anne, "they would not have been pleased if we had refused to join them. When people come in this manner on purpose to ask us, how can one say no?" LOL.
