I the ironic thing is   Written by Faith R (10/3/2005 10:44 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Captain Wentworth and Louisa's fall, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

Louisa thinks she is being the type of woman Wentworth wants by being headstrong but of course she is merely trying to please him and not being firm and resolute at all! She is conforming her behavior in a way she thinks will be pleasing to him. But even though she is an intelligent enough girl she doesn't really understand what he means. She hasn't the depth. He has persuaded her to behave in this way. But I don't blame Wentworth because I don't think he could have predicted what turn his remarks would take.
