Is it snobbery to realize   Written by Faith R (10/1/2005 12:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Superior Anne (longish), penned by Pennie
Are you new?

that one has a greater sense of what is right and proper than those around you? What does one do when thrown into such a situation? Have you ever been the only sober one in a room full of tipsy people? It isn't a defense mechanism to realize that you are the only one with all your faculties intact! It is just cold hard fact!

I think Anne would like to be as happy as the Musgrove sisters but she knows what makes them happy isn't going to suit her. I do think neglect helped form her. She had to find inner strength and her strength is learning to be true to herself. We all find something to comfort us in our lonliness but I think Anne was too kind to be "snobbish."
