It hardly seems good policy...   Written by Mary Ellen (9/28/2005 9:14 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Male Pride, penned by James S.
Are you new?

for a young woman in any era to let it get around that she is still madly in love with someone with whom she has parted ways. Anne was not acquainted with any of his intimates (she could have corresponded with his sister, if Anne had known her) and so could only have transmitted the information through relative unknowns. If LR had heard of this I'm sure she would have shushed it in a moment. A young lady has to be available for any good situation which comes her way. She cannot cling to old romances.
