Are you new?

This made me wonder again about Lady Russell. We are told that she loved Anne and gave her every attention, yet (based on the above statement) never listened and/or encouraged her on the piano. It just seems natural that she should have done so. I begin to wonder about LR...

Perhaps she didn't have an instrument at her house, yet it would seem perfectly natural that she would. Hmm...
