Tall Ship Rose   Written by Caroline (9/28/2005 7:20 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Thanks so much, but could you also compare it to the ship, penned by Kalyn
Are you new?

HMS Rose, used as the Surprise in Master and Commander, is a replica of an eighteenth century frigate.

Linked below is the website run for Rose crewmembers- if you click on "Specifications" you'll find more info. But the short answer is that she's more like the ship that Wentworth captured than the good old Asp.

(And no, I don't want to go into more details about how French naval engineering was different from English, and how you can only imagine so far with the Rose, becasue she's definitely an English ship, not a French one, sorry.)
