Autumn   Written by Cheryl (9/27/2005 11:28 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Hit me as well., penned by Ann2
Are you new?

I asked Julie about our plant question and, intrepid gardener that she is, she said that it is autumn when they left Kellynch which is the perfect time to transfer plants from one garden to another.

"In theory the garden soil is still warm from the summer (!) and so it helps them becoem established. It works welI for perennials and it is recommended for evergreen shrubs. So yes, I think Anne was getting Mackenzie to up root and transfer some plants to Lady Russell's gardner."
