Pardon me, Helena6, if I misinterpret you!

Based on what Helena wrote and what she quoted, I think she meant that Anne did not marry Charles because he was not her intellectual and emotional equal, despite the fact that it would have been prudent to do so. Which is also what I think you are referring to when you say "marrying merely for prudence was not something that Anne felt comfortable with." Did I miss something?
