These chapters, particularly the last where she learns of CW's comment about her is so sad. I feel Anne's heartbreak exceedingly. It was all I could do not to race ahead and see that it all works out ok. By just dwelling on these chapters, I get a sense of how sad Anne must be. And no one to confide in! To know he's coming! To anticipate the meeting! To hear his disparaging words! Poor Anne!
