Very mixed, I would think! I'm sure his feelings were little different than what people experience today under similiar circumstances: what does the person look like, have they changed, how will they react when we meet again, how will I react when we meet again? If you are the one who has been rejected, as was CW, you couldn't help but wonder if there will be a further rejection.
