Mr Elliot and Elizabeth   Written by Tracy W (9/25/2005 4:36 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr. Elliot and Elizabeth, penned by Emmy
Are you new?

Mr Elliot and Elizabeth would have been very likely to inherit Kellynch and thus their children would have been provided for. As another back-up, Mr Elliot was training as a lawyer and thus had his chance of making his own fortune.

Plus this was just after Lady Elliot died, when there was still plenty of money around. I think at that point Sir Walter could have afforded to settle some capital on his favourite daughter.

As for Col Fitzwilliam marrying Anne de Bough rather than Darcy - Col Fitzwilliam lacked the 10,000 per year. :)
