Well she did try taking her to Bath,   Written by Emmy (9/25/2005 2:51 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I think it..., penned by Reeba

presumably to cheer her up, however ineffective it was. What I don't understand is why did LR never take Anne again or to anywhere else. Presumably, Anne already disliked Bath from her time spent there in school after her mother died, yet she went with LR. I am sure her spirits were much depressed, but LR would certainly understand why. I don't find her interference so offensive as I do her leaving Anne so neglected. I believe that at 19 LR had not yet come to see the evil of Anne remaining in SW's house that she had seen at 22. Until she was 14, she was living with her mother --- who tempered some of SW's foolish behavior --- and sometime before turning 19 she spent 3 years in Bath, so Anne had not spent that much time in her father's house after her mother's death and before her engagement. Whereas by the time CM offers for her, 3 years had passed and LR could see what treatment Anne was enduring.
