LR may have not liked the idea, but without another suitable option, LR may have expressed her concerns about FW's personality more mildly.

Plus, Anne would not have listened if LR's objections were merely based on his character. I'm sure LR would have understood this as well.

She may have been dissapointed, but she would likely have yeilded if FW had come with enough to support a wife immediately.
