SHE rejected HIM, not the reverse. And it wasn't some type of coy game Anne was playing -- she cut him loose. Anne must have done a very convincing job in order for Wentworth not to hang around mooning over her, hoping she would come to her senses. The fault was not with him -- the fault was with Anne for allowing herself to be manipulated by the snobbish Lady R.
