have only 6 people that would be tolerable to their standards --- in Darcy's case, the 6 accomplished women and in SW's case, 6 "mere" men who he'd find it acceptable to let his home. Moot point, of course, since Darcy has Pemberley, but I would wager that Sir W would not want to let to Bingley, what with his connections to trade and all... Netherfield's owners must not have been so snobby! Of course, it had sat empty for quite a while!
