I come from India and almost all my aquaintances, including my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends have had an arranged marriage.

The assumption that these are loveless marriages is wrong.
Unless there is the presence of something drastic, most of these marriages settle into a comfortable relationship with a deeper feeling.
There is something to it which I can't explain since it is not something one would understand in a western culture.

Somehow while reading JA, things just click into place and I see it in the context I am familiar with.
