I'm not sure if it's a plot hole or not   Written by Emmy (9/23/2005 1:26 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Showing Anne the world: A plot hole?, penned by Maisy
Are you new?

the fact that LR never takes Anne anywhere beyond Bath that first year after the broken engagement. Whether or not she was invited is another question. When trying to decide where to go once quitting Kellynch Hall is a certainty, Anne wants to stay in a smaller house in their neighborhood. She preferred the country, and preferred her own area specifically. Perhaps LR did invite Anne beyond that first trip, and Anne declined for whatever reason. I myself would jump at the chance to be away from SW and E, but then Anne is a bit downtrodden and is either not in the mood. Could Elizabeth have persuaded her father from allowing Anne going anywhere whilst she stayed at home (a la Kitty in P&P having a fit that Lydia got to go to Brighton whilst she remained at home)?
