I have the hardest time getting anyone to read Persuasion, because they don't have the patience to sit through four chapters of almost complete narration. It's not immediately captivating - it's like Anne herself. Slightly overlooked, and hard to get to know at first, but so romantic and lovely once you've got past all that.
