This is from the notes in my Broadview Literary edition. I thought it was interesting:


According to the 1806 Annual Register two FRench ships were destroyed, and 760 of their men killed or woulnded on three ships that were captured, against total English losses of 64 killed and 294 wounded. Austen's brother Frank took part in the action.
