Anne in LR's Eyes Written by Aramathea (9/21/2005 8:28 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Well, convincing Anne to break her engagement, penned by Annette J.

I suddenly find myself wondering if part of LR's discouragement of Anne and FW's engagement was because Anne's beauty and kindness are exaggerated in LR's mind's eye? She probably thought that at 19, Anne would have a good few years left of suitors ringing her bell left and right, yet this doesn't happen so surely Anne is no Helen or Aphrodite. I imagine her as a gentle yet fairly average-looking young woman, and overly shy to boot. Even three years on LR is starting to lose hope!
