Persuasion is too short?   Written by Chris DS (9/21/2005 5:24 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Or no time to revise?, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

I absolutely agree. There are many aspects about the book that seem flawed (don't stone me just yet!), and after P&P this has always been my favourite book, despite that. It may be, that had Jane's health been better, then she would have had time and energy to revise and polish her work to remove these little inconsistencies, and certainly to have expanded the storyline into a three volume novel. I don't think from memory that she sent the book for publication, and this may be an indication that Jane was not completely satisfied with her drafts.
