Lady Russell   Written by Nicki (9/20/2005 5:00 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Persuasion in Persuasion (chapters 1-4, long), penned by Tracy W
Are you new?

seems to me to value people by how much she can influence them, by the looks of things!

Lady Elliot relied on her 'kindness and advice'.

Anne rates her influence with the other Elliots 'highly'.

She doesn't feel that Elizabeth deserves love because LR 'had never succeeded in any point which she wanted to carry' and had 'scarcely any influence' with her.

She has no luck in persuading Sir Walter to follow her scheme of retrenchment.

Any connections?
