The Devious Mrs Clay   Written by Peg (9/20/2005 11:51 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Elizabeth (ch. 2), penned by Maisy

Mrs Clay's little speech regarding the beauties of Kellynch, both natural and material, struck me as a calculated play on Sir Walter's fears. She has much to lose if Elizabeth leaves her sphere of influence.
