Although I couldn't name any names without doing some reserach, I'm certain that even the upper classes/sons of the nobility went to debtor's prison. I seem to remember a young nobleman who was imprisoned in London and his suite in the gaol was so fine, and his friends still called upon him, that there was really no reason to leave!
