in consequence of the missive, Hunting?, penned by Cheryl
I also wondered what this meant, particularly since it is immediately followed by "quite the gentleman." What did he do with the gun? Clean it? Skeet shooting? Track birds but not pull the trigger? (We would not like to suppose The Admiral to have been a bad shot!)
And why does this mean (as is implied) that he is more gentlemanly for it? In this period, it was quite acceptable for men to hunt and shoot.
Or due I misconstrue?
