My take on the Elliot family tree   Written by Art (9/19/2005 1:27 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Walter, the heir? (confusion/clarification), penned by Rebecca Nix
Are you new?

"great grandson of the second Sir Walter"

I took this statement and sketched out a crude family tree:

2nd Sir Walter -> elder son -> current Sir Walter
2nd Sir Walter -> younger son -> a grandson -> William Walter

(I hope this format isn't too confusing; I don't know enough HTML to make a more traditional diagram)

This would make William Walter the first cousin, once removed, of Sir Walter (if I have my genealogical terminology straight).

You may, of course, draw your own family tree, and conclusions.
