'Handlilng' is exactly the word I thought of too when reading the sections on Mr. Shepherd's attempts to steer Sir Walter in the right direction. He appears rather experienced in handling this pampered, easily disgrutled and Narcissistic baby boy. Indeed, he certainly earns his pay! ;-)
