] I think her reputation for influence is overrated. What do you think--or perhaps a question that should be held aside until later in the book.

You have a point that she has no influence over Elizabeth and Sir Walter, but they don't love her and look up to her as Anne does, so that makes sense.

But yes, let's be careful not to go too far ahead here. The subject was the Lady Russell of chapter 1 (and 2-4). ;-)
