Re Mr. Bennet (I'm on roll today with him!), another thought that came to me that I thought was quite in Mr. Bennet's favor was his unconditional support of Lizzy when being pressured by Mrs. Bennet to marry Mr. Collins. We also would have had a completely story had Mr. Bennet been completely economically-minded and not thinking of his daughter's feelings. He did have at least some really good characteristics! Yes, Jane Austen did paint a very nuanced picture of realistic characters. :)
