Insensible   Written by Robbin (5/22/2010 9:51 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Great analysis of a complex character. On the surface, penned by AnnetteJ
Are you new?

“…the experience of three-and-twenty years had been insufficient to make his wife understand his character” (1)

I think any sensible woman would realize her husband has a different level of concern for the future of his family but Mrs. Bennet is not sensible. It seems she often feels they think alike despite several examples to the contrary. In Ch. 20 she believes Mr. Bennet will advise—force Lizzy to marry Mr. Collins yet that is the farthest from the truth she could have believed. I think Mrs. Bennet is one of those people (characters) who cannot believe others think differently than themselves.
