I retract, humbly. Mr. Bennet would not tease Georgianna out of countenance. After all, Mr. Bingley, who could have defended himself had Mr. Bennet decided to take digs at him, provoked this response:

There was nothing of presumption or folly in Bingley, that could provoke [Mr. Bennet's] ridicule, or disgust him into silence [...]

Certainly, a harmless, young lady lacking both presumption and folly would garner even kinder treatment.
