...since every rereading, I momentarily forget (since it is confusing at the end) how important information was related to various characters, particularly how Lady Catherine got wind of Darcy and Elizabeth possible marriage. Reminds me slightly (getting into austenuations territory here...) of General Tilney taking as fact John Thorpe's idea that Catherine Morland was to fall into a lot of money being heir to the Allens. Lady Catherine took the rumor as high probability and was going to do all in her power from preventing it becoming a fact!
