I love this Darcy quote from Ch 60: It is so telling of him.   Written by jeffrey (5/19/2010 3:52 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Gossip in P&P: Ch.57-61, penned by Line
Are you new?

"......"My aunt's intelligence had given me hope, and I was determined at once to know everything....."

That doesn't look like pride to me any more. The poor man is severely stricken with love and seeks out Elizabeth at his earliest possible opportunity. How many men have missed out on the women of their dreams because they didn't follow up? I really admire Darcy because he is a MAN OF ACTION. He gets the important things done. Throughout the entire story he is constantly at work. Whether through hearsay or letters or the author, We discover Mr. Darcy is a very involved man with the significant others in his life.
