in consequence of the missive, I think we geneerally agree about Darcy and Lizzy., penned by Connie
...if a smart young colonel, with five or six thousand a year, should want one of my girls, I shall not say nay to him...
when Colonels make ~one or two thousand a year?
P.S.: Perhaps we should describe Mrs. Bennet as 'remarkably quick in the discovery of attachments' instead of 'perceptive?' Jane Austen uses that one to describe Mrs. Jennings in Sense and Sensibility.
