Mr. Bingley's little joke...   Written by Anne-Marie (5/18/2010 10:13 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr Bingley causes me a good chuckle in ch59, penned by Tom P2
Are you new?

And then he slyly arranges for Lizzy and Darcy to be alone by getting Kitty to acknowledge that she'd rather stay home than go for a long walk with the others. My question is, has Kitty also caught on by now that something's up between Darcy and Lizzy? Could it be that Bingley has tipped Kitty off? We know Kitty can keep a secret, since she never told anyone about Lydia's attachment to Wickham at Brighton. And she and Bingley are on friendly enough terms for him to call her not only by her first name, but by her family nickname, so it's possible that they had a little talk on one of their previous walks.
