*scratching noises* Yeah, a few good smacks on Lydia with a two by four would scratch that itch nicely.

We can see that nothing has made any impression on Lydia, but I'm always pleased by the part of chapter 61 that says Kitty is improved by being away from Lydia's company. I'll grant that becoming "less irritable, less ignorant, and less insipid" isn't exactly a rave review, but at least some of the neglect appears to be undone.
