Are you new?

She sounds like she is just being gracious...is she being OVERLY gracious? Is it too much to say "come and shoot all my birds"?

I don't understand why that is so mortifying...unless it is because it is in such stark contrast to how she just addressed Darcy....and Elizabeth knows what Darcy has done for the family (re:Lydia)..and Mrs. Bennett clearly does not....
