witticisms...   Written by Benedicte (5/17/2010 3:24 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Jane Austen Witticism, penned by Lenora
Are you new?

I had started noting all JA's witticism which have made me laugh since my 1st reading of the novel... but there are definitely too many of them.

I'll ait for the next group read to start suh a thread from the very beginning!
One or two in this week's schedule "so easily guided that his worth was invaluable" (ch.58)

ch.61 almost overflows with witticisms (just as ch 1)

"perhaps, it was lucky for her husband, who might not have relished domestic felicity in so unusual a form, that she still was occasionally nervous, and invariably silly."

Miss Bingley :"as she thought it advisable to retain the right of visiting at Pemberley, she dropt all her resentment; was fonder than ever of Georgiana, almost as attentive to Darcy as heretofore, and paid off every arrear of civility to Elizabeth"

Lady C : the "genuine frankness of her character"
